Q: What is better a 2-stroke engine or 4-stroke engine?
Primo Scooter offers two 49.5cc engines, one is 2-stroke  and one is a 4-stroke engine.  In most cases, a 2-stroke engine will be the perfect engine for you. It has more power and more top speed. Our 2-stroke engines are auto oil/fuel mixing, so you don't have to mix the oil and gas. Just fill up with unleaded fuel and keep the 2-cycle oil container full.  A 2-stoke engine will get about 80 MPG, while a 4-stoke will get about 100 MPG.

Q: Why are your prices so much lower than other dealers?
Simple: volume.  We sell a lot of scooters every week, so we buy directly from the manufacturer in large quantities.  This volume allows us to sell the scooters for less because we don't need to make as much profit on each customer, instead making our profits over a large number of customers.

Q: Does Primo Scooter sell wholesale?
Yes, we sell to dealers, rental companies, government agencies, and car clubs (group purchases).  For more information, please click here.

Q: How can I pay for my scooter?
We accept all major credit cards, checks, money orders, cash, bank transfers and Western Union wire transfers.

Q: How fast will the scooters go?
The 2-stroke scooters will go about 45 km/h (30-35 MPH).  Our Spirit will go faster, but it may not be legal in your state.  The 4-strokes are rated at 40 km/h.  In most states, this is the legal limit that a moped or 50cc scooter can be operated at.  The scooters have a governor installed by the factory.  We do not support after-market speed parts or offer support for upgrading the speed.

Q: How many people can ride the scooter?
The Spirit, Bellagio and Bel Aire are made for one person. The Akita 15 can hold two riders of light weight.

Q: Are the scooters street legal?
Yes, in most states our scooters are considered street legal, however, please read our disclaimer. In most states, 50cc scooters are considered mopeds. Please check with your local DMV.

Above: All of our scooters come with the DOT (Department of Transportation) label.  Many companies don't offer legal scooters, but Primo Scooter does.

Q: How do I register the scooter?
If your state requires you to register the scooter, you should just need  your receipt (bill of sale) and the Certificate of Origin we send with each scooter.  Note: after you receive your scooter, please let us know what the VIN number is and we'll mail the Certificate of Origin, we don't send them with the scooter during shipping to help prevent theft.

Q: What is the difference between the four scooter models you sell?
We sell four body styles.  All of the scooters have the same engine specs.  All of our scooters have enough room under the seat to store a helmet.  All of our scooters come with fuel gauges and speedometers that read in MPH and Km/h.  They all come with headlights, turn signals, horn, mirrors, and a low oil buzzer (2-stroke model).  The Bellagio and Bel Aire have rear luggage racks that will hold 30 pounds.  The Akita 15 has a very nice front storage compartment that can hold a couple of bottles of water and a jacket.  The Bel Aire has the widest seat which is nice for larger riders.  The Akita 15 has the most comfortable seat because it is deeply padded for long trips and can hold two riders in a pinch. The Bellagio scooter in designed to be ridden by smaller riders. The dash has a lockable glove box so it makes the dash come closer to the seat, so people over 5'8" might hit the dash with their knees during riding. The Spirit doesn't have a restrictor installed on the engine, so it will go faster but may not be legal in all states.

Q: How long will it take for me to get my new scooter?
If you are local, you can pick your scooter up the same day if you order it before noon. If you order it after noon, you can pick it up the following day.  If we need to ship your scooter, it takes us a day to get the shipping company lined up and then they will deliver it within 2-6 business days, depending on your location.

Q: How much will the shipping cost?
We can ship your scooter to you for $60 to $250 each.  You save money by shipping more than one scooter at a time and if you can accept your scooter at a business address, it will save you $100 to $120.  In most cases, a business address shipment will be between $60 and $125.  If you need a lift gate truck to help you unload your new scooter, please add about $30 to the total cost.  For more shipping information or a quote, please click here

Q: What happens if the scooter is damaged during shipping?
Check your crate for damage before the driver leaves. It's highly unlikely that your scooter will get damaged during shipping because it is packed very well, however accidents can happen so we insure each shipment for at least the replacement value and shipping cost of your new scooters.  If your scooter arrives damaged, call the shipping company immediately. We will assist you in filing a claim.   When scooters leave our warehouse we check it for damage. We DO NOT ship damaged crates, so if your crate has any damage, the shipping company that delivered your scooter is responsible.

Q: Does Primo Scooter have parts in stock?
We carry a full line of replacement parts for our 50cc scooters. Our parts department has most parts in stock, but if you need something else, we'll try to get it for you.  We want to make sure our customers are taken care of, so our customers have priority on our parts inventory!

Q: Do you sell used scooters?
No.

Q: Do you take trade-ins?
No.

You are responsible for shipping both ways, but we will assist you in getting the best price. You will also be responsible to pack your Product for return so as to prevent damage to body panels or mechanicals.

Q: Is Primo Scooter a real business?
Yes, we are located in Edison, NJ.

Q: How long will the scooters last?
Our scooters are made by the largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer in Asia. They produce millions of scooters per year and scooters are a way of life in Asia, so they have to be reliable.  The engine is based on a Yamaha 50cc.
